Most of my newborn portrait sessions are a combination of posed little ones in baskets, cozy blankets, and swaddle; along with lifestyle photo of them with mommy and daddy. Sometimes though, I have a newborn portrait session that is all about the lifestyle side of things. For this lifestyle newborn portrait session, Little Emilia’s photos were all about the snuggle and just letting her enjoy life with mommy and daddy.
I think what makes the lifestyle side of newborn photography so sweet is that you simply let the little ones be themselves. They get to enjoy all of the snuggles and love from their family while I get to capture all the moments. Having little ones of my own, I know how fleeting those days of tiny toes are. Even the first month of a baby’s life is often full of big growth spirts. My own little ones have gone from one size to the next in a week or two post birth.
Pausing for newborn portraits and/or family portraits is so special at that early stage.
Lifestyle portait sessions are also extra special because they can include your furry family as well. Adding a new baby to the family is a big change and often times the fur kids are curious and excited about who has joined them in their home.
