I’m a little behind on my Christmas blog post. With all of the family emergencies, a new nephew, and our own babe on the way soon; it’s been a bit chaotic. But here we are at the end of January and the Christmas blog post is finally ready. Enjoy a little Lifestyle Christmas Portrait Photographer’s version of the lovely holiday.

I’m not sure about you, but I am big into creating traditions and carrying on traditions. Growing up, we would open stockings first. This is now what we do as a family. The kids open theirs and then Aaron and I swap stockings.
A few years ago, we started a new tradition. Part of it was just so I could keep gifts strait after they were wrapped, and part of it was just the fun of each kiddo having their own special paper. So just like the last few years, each kiddo picked a special paper and found their gifts wrapped in it under the tree. Addie chose the kitty cat paper, Grady the construction paper, and Caroline the polar bears.

Addie, little miss Linus. Always there with Blankey and her fingers. I’m still not sure how to break that habit, but it’s still so cute! Miss Caroline got a little camera from her aunt and uncle, so I now have a photography shadow. We may have to talk about spacial awareness though. hehe

With the 90’s being back, we chose a very 90’s Christmas for Miss Caroline. A few months ago on Amazon Prime day I found a Tamagochi on sale and knew she had to have one. She then requested a microphone that would record her. So instead of the digital one, we got her a walkman with a chorded microphone. Sometimes you just have to have a little fun.

Addie has got some stellar fashion sense. Take notes people! That is a snazzy double sock she has going on with her new baking set mitten.

I think Aaron is proud of me. This year the kids decorated the tree and I didn’t move a single ornament despite the wild placement. It might have taken every ounce of willpower, but I survived the entire holiday season without touching it.

While this might have just been my little family’s Christmas fun, our lifestyle Christmas Portrait sessions are always a lovely addition to holiday traditions. You can get started with your own family lifestyle portrait session here.
