I first met Laura when she was a bridesmaid in Ashley and Jeromy’s Deep Creek Maryland wedding a few years ago. Though a bit of time had passed since I had seen her last, when we “re-met” for her and Michael’s engagement session last summer and picked up right were we had left off. Their easygoing manner and delightful personalities made for the most wonderful time. Their wedding day followed in suite.
To set the scene, a series of lovely Italian Villas stretched out along the banks of a charming pond for Laura and Michael’s wedding. Gervasi Vineyards spared no little detail when creating a dreamy wedding location. Lush forest greenery and well manicured grounds became the background for almost every photo.
I know Ohio isn’t to far from Pittsburgh but we hadn’t been there before for a wedding and it didn’t disappoint!
It was a rather warm day so Laura’s open back lace and sequence covered gown was perfect. It’s lightweight and flowing fabrics looked stunning while the cute little cut-outs on the side kept her as cool as one could be. Pair the dress with this lovely bouquet and the glowing bride herself
Now you can’t forget our dapper groom who was waiting just a villa over to see the lovely bride-to-be.
Behind the villa that Laura got ready in was the most lovely willow tree. I don’t think I have ever met anyone who truly dislikes willow trees but as you can guess, I was in my glory having it in the background. Had it not been so close to the banks of the pond, I would have used it a bit more but no one needed to take a swim.
With the willow tree and villa in place, it was time to bring our bride and groom together for their first look.
Thankfully Aaron told me this AFTER but I stepped on a dead fish for these photos. Ick! Since I was about 6 inches from the water edge here, Aaron thankfully decided it was a good idea to wait to tell me. I’m pretty sure I would have landed in the water had he said anything sooner.
After their first look and a few portraits, Laura and Michael’s bridal party braved the humidity and joined us outside.
Each bridesmaid chose a pink dress but I love that not a single one matched in style in color. It made for a lovely soft pink glow without being to matchy-matchy.
The patio outside the Villa Grande at Gervasi Vineyard became the background for the ceremony. Wine barrels were graced with florals infront of the commanding arches. With each villa’s pathway leading right to the guests and chairs, the spot was perfect!
Though a nasty storm was brewing somewhere nearby, the sun popped out here and there for a few moments. We took advantage of the sunshine for a quick moment before sending our wedding party into the reception to cool off and enjoy some refreshments.
Thank you so much Michael & Laura for allowing us to join in and capture your wedding! Gervasi Vineyard was simply stunning and perfect for your wedding day!
Hugs!
