When we said “I do” three years ago, all of these thoughts floated in my head. Things that people had told me about marriage that I now know were not true. So let me just start out by saying what marrieage is….
Marriage is singing silly songs to one another because you can’t sleep.
Marriage is laughing a silly puma meme for an hour.
Marriage is asking your wife to dance while she is making the grocery list.
Marriage is grieving with your husband over the loss of a dear friend.
Marriage is fighting but kissing and making up after you have both cooled off.
Marriage is being there for one another and showing grace to each other.
Marriage is choosing to see the good when all you want to do is point out the bad.
Marriage is taking time for the other when you don’t really have the time.
Marriage is choosing. Choosing the person you have vowed to spend the rest of your life with day after day after day.
On October 20th, 2012, I choose Aaron. Our little life together may appear perfect from the outside but each day we choose. Somedays the choices are good ones and other days we choose poorly and a few tears a shed. When it all comes down to it, we are human but waking up each morning choosing to love and serve Aaron makes things a whole lot easer.
Cheers to three married years Mr Aaron Jackson! Yes, I CHOOSE YOU and LOVE YOU so very much! Here’s to many many more years!!
