5 Wedding lighting tips & how it effects your photos
Planning a fall & winter wedding
More about me
Hi I'm Tiffany! Mama of 3 little ones, 19 year wedding photographer and portrait photographer, photography workshop host and mentor, 7 year wedding planner, micro homesteader, lover of travel & adventure, follower of Jesus, and hobby gardener.
The 2026 wedding season was in full force early this year. It worked out perfectly though with baby #4 coming in May though. Our second wedding of the season was an early spring George Washington hotel reception with a ceremony at Immaculate Conception just down the street in downtown Washington, Pennsylvania. wedding. These were both two venues that Aaron and I had been to before and we so excited to go back to. Each venue boasted it’s own old world traditional charm and we know we could bring that out in their photos.

While the girls got ready in the bridal suite at the George Washington Hotel, I worked on capturing all of Cara’s lovely wedding day details.

Cara adored the pretty doors and traditional decorate details around the hotel, so my goal was to bring that into her wedding day pieces while bringing in her red color pop.

While I love the main ballroom, I simply adore the Washington Room with it’s grand windows and the unique mini balcony’s that line the side wall. Just wait until you see the magical photos of the both of them together in the space after their ceremony. It was simply perfect considering the spring rain storm that hit dampening our plans.

While Cara was getting ready in the Mount Vernon Room, Jason was getting ready in one of the hotels many suites.

Before the guys left for the church, they too popped down into the Washington Room for a few portraits.

Their beautiful ceremony was held at the Immaculate Conception church. I very large and quite lovely old cathedral in downtown Washington.

Despite the dreary spring weather that was moving in, we quickly captured family portraits, bridal party portraits, and a few of Cara and Jason at the alter before we took of to our first photo location.

Their first stop was at the Washington County Courthouse. A simply stunning old building full of that old world architecture and details that you simply don’t see anymore in new buildings. We made it just before they closed, and the sweet security guard, kindly turned on a few lights for us so the dome area was lit up. This was only my second time taking wedding photos in the Washington County Courthouse, but this time didn’t disappoint either.

Our next stop was at the local Krispy Cream, but due to the terrible spring storm that moved in, we opted for moving back to the hotel. It ended up rather dark quite early, but we made the best of the soggy situation and returned for photos just before the heavy rain and wind hit. Thankfully, we didn’t even loose power at the hotel.

We ended their portrait time with a series of large family group photos and then the party began.

This photo always reminds me of a sweeping and grand Disney princess photo at the end when they dance together.
