While our New Years Eve wedding ran into the start of this year, it still wan’t our first office wedding of the year. That honor went to Kristen and Buddy with their West Overton Barn Wedding! This charming rustic chic travel themed wedding was simply stunning with not a detail missing!

These two love to travel. So much so that their theme fell perfectly into place with their gifts for one another. From Buddy’s groom-gift of a compass to Kristen’s Go-Pro bride-gift; each detail told a part of their story.

In a little cottage tucked back in the wood these two along with with bridal party go ready for their first look. Here is their West Overton Barn wedding day story though photos.

Meet Sampson there fur child! You might have seen this dapper fellow on my Instagram a few weeks back. He had stopped in the studio for a mini session so that he could have his photo on the front of the photo viewing cards.

(If you aren’t sure what the photo viewing cards are, they are cards that Aaron and I pass out at the reception that allows family and friends to view and download the wedding photos so they too can have them. This way our bride and groom don’t have to pass around their keepsake USB.)

With portraits being something Kristen and Buddy said were super important and not letting their guests wait for long after the ceremony, these two opted for a darling first look. After Buddy turned to see Kristen, they hugged for several long moments. Friends, it’s one of the most beautiful things to capture and watch! Though Aaron and I were still there I’m pretty sure for those long moments they forget we are even there.

Since the sunshine left us a little early, we started our “sweet light” photos a little early but don’t worry, they didn’t disappoint!

When Aaron and I were looking for our wedding venue for October of 2012, the West Overton Barn was one of our first picks. Unfortunately, it was already booked for our date. Since they were have had a few weddings there but each time we photograph there, I can’t help but be a little jealous. It’s a lovely place!

A father officiating his daughters wedding and paying a final blessing over the couple and the meal… so sweet!

Enough of the mushy cute stuff, let’s get this party started!!
