What I wish I would have known…
I remember walking into the jewelry store to pick out my simple little band. It wasn’t the one I wanted but it was the one we could afford. The older lady behind the counter sized my engagement ring and stated that my wedding band, since it was so small, should be a half size SMALLER. Not knowing any better, I said that was fine. Then came Aaron’s turn to pick his band. Since he is a carpenter, she suggested a Tungsten carbide ring and then stated that since his was so wide, it should be a half size LARGER. He didn’t like that idea, but we both decided that the jewelry store clerk knew best.
Fast forward to last February the 15th…. Aaron had lost his ring a month prior because it was too big and I was just in a car accident due to horrible roads and my ring finger was injured and swollen. I couldn’t get my little wedding band off. My engagement ring was off but the wedding bad was not willing to budge over my swollen knuckle. To make a long story short, I got it off after some time, but to this day, my little finger is a mess and still bothers me. It would have healed just fine were it not for the wedding band being a different size.
So I tell you this, to make sure your wedding rings are sized to match and not sized to small or to big. If you are not comfortable with the size, don’t order it that way.
Note: Aaron did find his ring. He has since lost it one more time as well and found it again.
