So WAY back in October Aaron and I took the best fall family vacation to Bald Head Island in North Carolina. Well alright, it was a work-cation but we tried to vacation as much as we could. I had been dreaming of visiting Bald Headed Island for years and my little dream came true. I would still love to photograph a wedding on Bald Head Island whether it be a beach wedding, a wedding at the Shoal’s Club or at the Bald Head Island Chapel but for now, I just visited the island.
Just a forewarning though, there is a lot of our cute golden’s face in this post.
Most roads around the island are lined with trees covered in Spanish moss. It’s so charming!
Their harbor allows the ferry to drop off guests, those who live there and those working there about every half hour. Plus, it also boasts several tasty restaurants. We sampled a few while we were there. Yum!
The quaint Bald Head Island Chapel sits nestled in the trees off the beach. The chapel’s beach color palette along with the Spanish moss surrounding just adds to it’s charm oh so much!
Can it get any more perfect? The Bald Head Island Chapel is like something you only see in the movies. Yes, a wedding here would be grand!! Someday…
You know how they say that we live in such a small world? Well, while we were visiting the little chapel, I ran into a photographer that had attended Pursuit 31 in Georgia with me in 2014. We hadn’t met at the event, but thanks to the cute bag they gave to the attendees, she saw it and we started chatting. Talk about crazy right!?!?!?
My new found friend was Faith Teasley of Faith Teasley Photography. She was kind enough to take a few family photos of us and the fur kid, Duke.
Duke the golden LOVES car rides but what he now loves even more is golf cart rides. Baldheaded Island’s transpiration is via golf cart. How cool is that!?!?
No family vacation wouldn’t be complete without a min photo shoot to right?
What was that saying about dog prints in the sand… 😉
One of our last days on the island we caught the sunrise.
And then the sunset along with a few photos of Old Baldy, the islands lighthouse.
I am pretty sure every travel guide, visitor brochure and Bald Head Island tourist guide had this photo on the cover or in the book, so I had to be all touristy and take my own photo of it too.
Until the next Jackson work-cation!
