Weeks of curriculum writing, days of putting together a full list of wedding day vendors, hours poured into making sure all was perfect and it was all over in two days. The Wedding Day Walk-Through Workshop is completed and it was as amazing as I hoped it would be! Going into this I had no idea what to expect, I just had a crazy idea.
A crazy idea that I made happen. I wanted to help photographers gain a fuller understanding of how to prepare and photograph a wedding without having to do so on a real wedding day. The goal was to give the attendees the most accurate real/fake wedding I could create. Day #1 of the workshop included taking photos of all the details and sessions to help each attendee prep and Day #2 was the real/fake wedding.
A HUGE shout-out to Jodi the boss lady behind Station House 7! Isn’t her place AMAZING?!?!?!! She is creating something magical one step at a time. While Station House 7 isn’t quite ready for rental yet, in the meantime Jodi is creating an awesome retail space on the first floor and workshop space on the second. Her goal is to turn it all into a venue to baby steps are in order to bring this gem of an old building back to life.
Sandy with Madison Reid Designs brought the lovely flowers early Saturday morning so the room was looking fresh and colorful for the attendees. My idea was to include fresh fruit in the flowers and she add the most perfect little peaches to the arrangements!
Dara with Bespoke and Beloved events join me for this endeavor. She snagged some vendors, helped with the set-up of the room and food and try as she might, keep me on track while talking. I seamed to have soooo much to say. I’m sure that surprises you all though. 😉 She was my right had gal and a total trooper through it all!
Look at all of the fabulous attendees! I have to giggle a little because I took these two photo of them all huddled together but not a single real photo of us all together on anything other than my iPhone at dusk. It was a workshop for photographers and I didn’t think to get a real photo. Oops!
In my early years after college, I too attended workshops and extra trainings and I always wondered why the teachers weren’t taking photo as well. I quickly learned why with my own workshop. There is so much to do and not enough time to do it all.
I wanted to be sure I took photos for each of the sweet vendors that graciously supplied the items for the attendees to photograph but also leave time for the attendees to take their own photos. All the while teach, move the room about for the next session and help Dara with the food since we didn’t cater the event. Silly me thought I would be a good idea to bring in homemade food. Even homemade cookies were included.

Just like a real wedding day, Day #2 started with the bride getting ready.
Heinz Healey’s graciously supplied the suits for out two dapper gentlemen.
Then it was the groom’s turn to get ready.
A romantic first look was next.
Followed by the ceremony. Station house 7 was the perfect size for the little workshop. On one end of the room we set the ceremony and the reception was on the other. A few furniture flips and the next real/fake wedding event was ready to take place.

Rachael and Nate along with their friends Taylor and Cord were gracious enough to brave the heat and model for us.
These two are so cute!!!
It’s not a wedding day if you don’t have bride and groom profit time too. While the heat made it a little tough to get all that I had hoped, in real-to-life wedding day fashion this part didn’t go as planned but everyone made it work and it was all lovely!

Last but not least, the reception! The most amazing due of BFF’s at Ould Souls hooked us up big time!!! Anni and Dana are the BEST!!! I couldn’t have done this without them! Their lovely furniture pieces brought everything to life!
See this darling custom glass plate complete with the couples wedding logo and date? Good, because this is an old school thing that I think needs to be brought back. This cuteness was brought to you by Behrenberg Glass Company in Delmont AND so were all the textured glass plates and bowls.
If you aren’t following Emily with Four Oaks Bakery, you need to! She is crazy good at creating one of a kind cakes that a moist and flavorful! Just look at the wedding cake masterpiece?!?!?!
