While every week might not always have such fun things planned for little Caroline, I think we did her in this week. Our trip out to Lititz and Longwood Gardens with grandma plum wore her out but I think she enjoyed every minute of it.
Travel & Adventure: I hadn’t been to Longwood Gardens in years but it didn’t disappoint. My mom loves flowers and while Phipps in Pittsburgh is very nice, I wanted to take her on a little trip for he birthday. The Lancaster/Philly area made for the perfect little overnight trip for us.
We caught the trees in this lush spring blossom stages and all of the ground cover and spring flowers were popping up too. We timed it perfectly!
Caroline wasn’t quite as fascinated with the rows and rows of spring flowers that were blooming or all the pretty buds on the trees but she did greatly enjoy the oversized catfish that a couple was feeding in the pond and the goose that seamed to follow us about a little. She loves animals to say the least.
There was so much to see and so much to do! I wish we would have had more time but our drive out took a little longer due to traffic. We did make it to almost everything though with the last things being outdoors where the plants weren’t quite as ready for viewing. Inside the conservatory though it was a totally different story.
Everything was so lush and green. Flowers were blooming everywhere and there were cute little water features everywhere. Caroline seamed to be fascinated by them!
Day #2 of our trip took us a little closer to home to where Aaron and I almost moved after we got married, Lititz. It’s the cutest little town just outside of Lancaster. They have some darling shops, the cutest little park and an overall quaint small town feel. Caroline’s favorite part though was the ducks.
However, I think the train with grandma was a close second. Caroline and I took grandma to all of my old favorite spots there.
Caroline even took her own pretzel factory tour with grandma too at the Julius Sturgis Pretzel bakery. I think more than anything she just wanted to eat the dough and run about the room but she behaved herself and got a pretzel treat in the end.
Little Miss Caroline: After a busy Thursday and Friday of travel and adventure, Caroline opted for a family day on Saturday and we headed to the park with the Jacksons and stopped by Aunt Kathy’s house after to see some of her Ziegenfus family.
By Sunday she was all played out and ready for some snuggles with her puppy.
