Jackson Adventures– This weeks adventure took us to Lake Erie. My Christmas present from Aaron was a trip to Erie to see one of our favorite Christian Comedian, John Crist and visit the lighthouses. While poor Aaron’s Air B&B plans fell through, there was someone in our booked Air B&B, we snagged up the last room at a local hotel.
We hadn’t stayed in an Air B&B before so we weren’t sure what to expect. Upon our arrival we noticed the the lights and TV on. I didn’t think it was to strange because some mom and pop places will leave the lights and TV planing in the background to give the homey feel when you arrive. This time though it was a bit more homey with a pair of shoes, suitcase and a person.
Apparently the owner and the property manager didn’t communicate well so we were left without a place to stay. Snagging up the most cost effective hotel at 11PM at night we landed ourselves right by Splash Lagoon unknowingly. So much for leaving the baby at home… We were woken at 6:00AM by kids who then proceeded to dance, run, jump and stomp all over the floor above us.
Before our comedy show we took a tour of Presque Isle and stopped by our favorite Irish Pub, Molly Brannigan’s, for fish n chips.
Erie lake was rather frozen over at the lake’s edge and it gave the illusion of an open field of snow rather than water. It was an amazing sight. The best part though was hearing the water below the ice swirl and the ice crunch.
Hands down the best comedy show! Three comedians and almost 3 hours of laughing.
The face you make when John Crist makes a joke and you don’t get it because it was a joke about homeschoolers… Yep, he was one and so were we. I guess we are still getting picked on even as adults.
Baby Caroline- My little mini is a book worm when she wants to be but our book attention span is only a few minutes. She will sit and flip the pages “reading” to herself. It’s the cutest thing.
Her birthday is Wednesday and party prep is in full sling around here. Decor prep, food prep and her own order of flowers will be happening around work and playtime this week.
Upcoming & Exciting- Don’t forget Caroline’s photo special on all portrait sessions from now till the end of March for her birthday! All portrait sessions are 25% off!!!
