In this last year we have traveled but not nearly as much as we wold have liked to. Being traveling wedding photographers, it’s made things a little difficult and different. We still traveled but not really for weddings. Now as I catch-up on blogging, I’m beyond thrilled to re-live our destination and travel weddings that took us outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Do you remember the darling lakeside proposal I photographed at the groom-to-be’s family cabin? Well, this is their wedding day. A stunning wedding in Rochester New York wedding with portraits right on Lake Ontario.
We arrived early in the morning at the Cheri Marie Bridal Lounge for Betsy’s getting ready photos. The most lovely sunshine was streaming through the windows giving AMAZING lighting for details while Betsy was finishing her hair and make-up in the bridal salon’s charming bridal lounge.
A sweet note for Betsy from Stephen awaited her once she was ready.
I will always LOVE a navy blue wedding color palette! Especially the use of anemone in their bouquets with their pretty navy centers and stark white petals. Even the soft muted eucalyptus reads a light dusty blue color in photos. When Betsy and I were first talking, she was unsure of that direction to head with her wedding color palette. With her love for blue and the stunning blue sapphire in her ring, I suggested starting there. One planning conversation after another, her color palette was set and it was lovely!
Stephen’s roots started and Pennsylvania while Betsy’s were in New York. I love how they brought that together with their little wedding welcome sign. Personal touches that tell stories on your wedding day add so much!
Meet their sweet baby boy Bodhi. He was a champ as he played the part of the Ring Dog. He walked right up the isle and strait to daddy for a few scratches before returning to his seat to watch the ceremony.
Bodhi didn’t miss a thing. He even had a mini portrait session with his mom and dad post ceremony. He was the best pup for his photos!
Betsy and I had planned their wedding day with a stop at a park on Lake Ontario but I had no idea what to expect since we arrived in Rochester late the night before I left early in the morning for getting ready photos. When we arrived for bridal party and bride and groom portraits, I was stunned! The bridesmaids dark blue dresses against the water’s light blue mixed with the grey suites and neutral driftwood on the shoreline was perfection!
The morning had started out sunny and bright but I’m so glad the skies turned moody. It softened all the colors and made the water the most lovely very/blue shade for their photos.
Stephen & Betsy,
I know your blog post was a bit of a wait BUT I truly hope you have enjoyed re-living your wedding day in all of it’s joy. I’m so excited for your little one to arrive in a few short months! Cheers to many happy and wonderful years as Mr & Mrs!
Hugs!
