They met in training and after spending so much time apart, they are now the new Mr & Mrs Gunn. With Sarah and Eric both being Naval Flight Officers, their time together has been more limited than most. Every phone conversation, email, and weekend together always meant the world to each of them. Now on a lovely Saturday in April, Sarah and Eric said “I do.”
When I first met Sarah, she and her mom had stopped in the studio to meet with Aaron and I. Poor Eric jumped in the conversation via FaceTime from somewhere out west. I am pretty sure that was the most awkward meeting ever but once Sarah and I started chatting, I started to see what Eric saw in her; her sweet caring spirit and big heart. Sarah and I exchanged emails while she was away and I would always get so excited to see her emails in my inbox. We chatted about all sorts of things, not just wedding to-do’s. By the wedding day, I felt like she was an old friend getting married. I guess that’s why I was tearing up during the ceremony. This is their photo story of their wedding day.
We started the morning at their reception venue, the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. This is one of my favorite Pittsburgh Wedding venues! You should have seen my excitement when Sarah first inquired and mentioned her venue. Sarah took a little extra time to do a daddy/daughter “first look.” I just love the big grin on his face.
I could spend hours in this room in the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. It’s so light and pretty!! Sarah, you look like a princess!! While the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” trend might be dying, I always love to see something special. Sarah had her dad’s wings added to her bouquet. He too was a Navy Flight Officer. Something that was super important to Sarah and Eric was this little note swap before the ceremony.
Eric just happened to sneak in a gift with her card too. Yes, he is a keeper!
The event they had been waiting for, the ceremony. Wooohhoooo!!! They are Mr. & Mrs. Gunn!!! Now I’m not a huge Pittsburgh landmarks girl just because everyone goes to the same place so I should have been surprised when this “must have” spot had three bridal parties on it taking photos!! Crazy right? Thankfully we got to sneak in a few photos before literally running back to the Pittsburgh Athletic Association for their wonderful reception. Sarah & Eric this is just swoon worthy!! Shout-Out to our good friend DJ Crush, Mr Tony Griffith!
Yep, they cut the cake with a sword. You just don’t see that everyday.
Before the night was over, Sarah had a little surprise for Eric… The Bella Christie’s and Lil Z’s food truck came fully ready to make hundreds of donuts for their guests. Yes, I might have tried one of each… they were small friends. Don’t judge. 😉 Eric LOVES donuts! Sarah might have said he might love them almost as much as her. I’m not sure I believe that but these donuts were very good.
Cheers Sarah & Eric!!! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives and capture your wedding day! Hugs!!! – Aaron & Tiffany

Thank you for capturing such a fantastic evening. I love the pre-wedding photos at the PAA, very charming, although my favorite ones might be Sarah’s expressions on the dance floor. Cheers to having a camera in hand at all the right moments!
