A once in a lifetime solar eclipse set the stage for Charlie & Crystal’s proposal day. Charlie and I had chatted a week before about the setting and planned out what was happening. Charlie had prepared a steak dinner ahead of time to be served to them by both of their best friends just before he popped the question. This post has been in the making for a while but it’s been a tough one to write because it’s all about my little sister growing up.
I set the stage for their romantic anniversary dinner. Fancy place cards, my guitar for Charlie to borrow, a month by month list of why each month was special to them and dinnerware. Tying it all together were the flowers.
Hidden behind the chalkboard was her ring all nestled in a box just waiting for Charlie.
Their proposal location was simple, the church they both volunteer at and attend. We did have to make sure it was ok to host “dinner” in the loft of the church but it was a lovely spot to pop the question. These two musicians even had a piano in the background to add to the look. Just one more thing to make this musicians proposal all the cuter.
As dinner was finishing, he paused a moment to play a song he had written for Crystal. Crystal, being completely unaware and just thinking he was playing some music casually kept on eating her steak. (I at this point was about to bust out laughing as I watched. Here he is about to propose and she is just eating away.) Finishing his song, he sang, “I’m just going to ask you. Will you marry me?”
As you can guess the answer was, “YES!”
What good photographer big sister wouldn’t then take the beaming couple outside for a few photos. The sunlight was perfect and these two were glowing!
These two will by tying the knot in July so stay tuned for those photos too.
