Precisely one month after our sweet little Grady was born, I packed up my camera bag for the most smashing start to the wedding season. Maggie and Zack’s ceremony took place at their family church, Saint Bartholomew Church Crabtree and their reception was held at the Longue Vue Club just outside of Pittsburgh. All of Maggie and her mom’s careful planning all came together in marvelous way!
Maggie is a detail girl like me, so she had the cutest little styling tray all ready when I arrived. The tray’s light peach tones paired perfectly with there flowers and bridesmaid dresses. She is a girl after my own heart with her rich navy blue to add a little contrast to her palette too.
Before putting her dress on, photo poolside with champagne with a must have!
Back inside her mother’s home Maggie got ready in the room she use to call home. While I do love a fancy hotel room or lovely B&B, home is always extra special.
A quick reveal for her bridesmaids and then off to the chapel we all went!
Like any good day in Pennsylvanian, when we arrived at Saint Bartholomew Church in Crabtree, the weather decided it wasn’t going to play nice. A bit of a rain shower started but Maggie was a gem and trusted me. We found a singular tree in the middle of the church yard and I went to work.
This one tree with it’s low branches not only protected her from the rain but acted as a magical foreground.
That “getting married” feeling!
Back at Maggie and Zack’s home, Zack and his groomsmen were getting ready.
Before they went outside for their own portraits and then to catch the limo, Maggie had a special gift for her “hubby-to-be.”
I’ve lived in Latrobe almost my entire life and only once been to the festival at Saint Bartholomew Church that comes before their notorious yearly fireworks. They are a highlight of so many local’s summer around here. Today there was no festival or fireworks but a sweet little wedding.
If the tears welling up in Zack’s eyes and Maggie’s as well don’t make your heart squeeze a little, I don’t know what will.
Not all of our couples want portraits in the front of the church since they are more traditional. Maggie’s family calls Saint Bartholomew’s church home, so a little extra time was taken to make sure she had a few lovely portraits at the alter.
While the clouds didn’t move, the rain went away and after our ride to the Longue Vue Club, photos commenced again but this time with their entire bridal party at the lovely stone arches the Longue Vue Club boasts.
A hint of sunshine to add the magical glow! This makes me so happy!
If you know anything about Longue Vue Club, you know about their iconic location at the top of the hill out on the golf course. Maggie and Zack put that spot on their must have list, so despite the wind we had to go.
Back in side, the Longue Vue Club’s ballroom was delicately decorated with lush greens, ivory roses and pops of peach.
These girls know how to PARTY!!! I don’t think I have ever seen a mother and daughter duo have so much fun!
Before the night was over, Maggie had a special outfit swap and then the party truly began!
