Over the last 14 years there are weddings that stick out in my mind. Beth and Jame’s small family farm wedding is one of them. It all happened in true old fashioned wedding style and I couldn’t have loved it more. For starters, the view below is Beth’s family farm near Harrisburg. This is where their wedding day took place.
Beth got ready in the farmhouse. The farmhouse she grew up in and did her hair and make-up as she did growing up in the same room. Pardon my nostalgia in all of this, but I’m a hopeless romantic.
All of Beth’s lovely flowers were designed by her brother and most of the blooms and greens had been gathered from around the farm. From heirloom bleeding hearts to hosta leaves, each arraignment was created with intention and love.
Beth’s nieces helped her by painting her toes and styling her hair.
Upstairs in her room Beth’s sisters popped in and helped her put on a few wedding details.
Out in the farm’s chestnut tree grove, James and Beth share a sweet first look.
Beth and James both live and work in Texas, this is how the two met. Obviously then Jame’s attire would not have been complete without a bolo tie.
There ceremony took place in the family barn with these friendly faces just below. Though covid had altered a lot of their wedding day plans, they still had a lot of alternative guests attend the wedding just below them. These cute furry faced friends enjoyed the festivities as well.
Family from afar joined in on a zoom.
Across from the big barn was the garage that their family quickly turned into a reception space area for James and Beth. The sense of family, the joy of a simple celebration, and the pulling together of resources brought so much added love to the day. There was no rush or extra hustle and bustle. The day flowed in a delight fashion with everyone enjoying one another.
Following a few toasts and more mingling between family and a few friends, Beth and James slipped off for a few sweet light portraits. The sun finally decided to join the evening and it put on quite a show before it set. I had a hard time choosing the photos to post here. I might have added more than needed but it was all so pretty!
James & Beth,
Thank you so much for including Aaron and I in your wedding day! It was such a beautiful reminder of what is truly important and how special the element of family truly is. Cheers to many wonderful years as Mr & Mrs!
