Styled Shoots take a lot of planning! We think we’ve thought of everything but no matter how much time you’ve dedicated to making the day go as smoothly as possible, something unplanned will almost always show up. So, plan on expecting unscheduled speed bumps. For our styled wedding and garden party shoot set in Leechburg, we ran into a few of those unpredictable bumps, but we ended up with beautiful photos because of all the beautiful people involved in the shoot.
Initially, we had planned to hold the styled shoot on a Thursday but rainy weather forced us to reschedule for a sunnier Monday. Being that the location was at a new venue and that one of the roads to get to the venue was closed, some members of the shoot arrived a little later than planed so our schedule was bumped behind. However, once everyone arrived we got straight to work setting up a beautiful ceremony overlooking one of Pennsylvania’s winding rivers nestled between tree filled mountain slopes. The ceremony shoot went off without a hitch, well besides hitching our models in styled matrimony.
After the ceremony shoot we moved to shoot the garden party reception featuring dusty blue vintage furniture. The models changed outfits. Our bride wore a dusty blue gown and the groom wore a blue jacket. Once again, an unplanned speed bump postponed our perfectly organized plans…our reception space had to be moved to a new location at the venue because new grass had just been planted in the space where the reception was meant to be held. Once we crossed that bump with a new location, we shared lots of laughs while shooting the garden party reception. Our fun-loving models helped was the stress of the day with their goofy facial expressions and sassy-sweet comments towards each other.
How To Plan a Styled Shoot Tips:
We had the most epic team of vendors that joined us for our styled shoot. Here are just a few photos of them working hard to make it all happen! I even snuck in a few photos thanks to Maria, my intern.
Our model were lovely too! hehehe But seriously though, Rachel and Eric were AMAZING!!!!!!
This one makes me giggle the most. Rachel looked over at him and “Don’t make that face for the photos” came flying out. For some reason it hit me kinda funny.
Our models are soooo pretty! 😛
A little shout-out to our intern Maria. It was her first day “on the job” and she was a life savor!!! We also accidentally ended up twinning. It was great.
Lastly, I want to give a big shout-out to all of our wonderful vendors. These guys went above and beyond for this styled shoot and brought the garden party in a first style to life.
