Happy Thanksgiving friends!! In honor of the 24th and Thanksgiving, I wanted to make a post about 24 things that I most thankful for and a little bit of the reason behind each thing.
First and for most, I’m thankful for God in my life. Without him, I wouldn’t be who and where I am today.
2. Next up would be my hubby who spent so many hours making sure my house was ready for Thanksgiving this year.
My family. Especially my mom and dad who raised me and guided me throughout my early years.
My friends. Growing up I always thought that everyone had to like me. Then one day, I realize that not everyone will like me. Maybe a personality conflict or just who we are but now, I have some of the best friends in the world and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
My business. It’s a lot of work, it’s a lot of stress, and it’s a lot of really long days but it’s my baby. Something I have nurtured and grown from the ground up.
Joy. I haven’t really talked much about this maybe just a blog post or two if one it all, but a little over two years ago I attended a conference that changed my life. It was all about choosing joy. Funny thing, Joy is my middle name but I didn’t really have much joy in my life. Now, as hard as it may be in some of my darkest days, I’m continually reminded to choose joy and I’m so thankful for the change that has made in my life.
Sunshine. As I’m writing this, I’m actually driving in the car using talk to type into a note. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and it’s absolutely beautiful! I can’t tell you how many times I wish I lived in a sunny state but after all rainy cloudy days, the many that we have, I am forever thankful for the few sunshine filled days.
Adventures. This year has been the year of adventures. We’ve traveled all over the US in the last 11 months and as much as it’s annoying to be constantly packing and unpacking, I’ve absolutely loved making all of those memories with my hubby.
My home. It might not be all that I want it to be yet, but it’s home to me. It’s a work in progress, a labor of love and it’s something that keeps bringing Aaron and I together over the last almost 3 years.
My puppy Duke. I don’t know what I would do without this little guy. He bring so much joy into our lives! I don’t think the house is a home without a dog.
My marriage. Marriage has taught me so much about myself and others. It taught me about compromising and choosing to love.
A clean home. Yes you may all laugh at this one. As you all know, I’m a neat freak and a little OCD sometimes. This can be to the point of making sure my chairs in my dining room are all aligned. After a long hard day at work though, I love to come home to a nice clean home.
Food. So the only reason I work out is so that I can eat food. As crazy as it seems and as much as my Instagram feed might look like we’re always doing well, there been times where things have been super tight for Aaron and I so I’m super thankful that we’ve been able to keep food in our fridge and in our cupboards.
Small-town Living. I adore living in a small town. The quaintness of it all and the simplicity.
Our camper. This past summer, we bought a little pop-up. That little guy went on several adventures in his first few months with us and I can’t wait to take him on more.
Family. The other guys, the ones that I was with on a less regular basis that still encouraged and supported me.
TJ Max and Marshalls. Ok don’t judge here. I LOVE those two store and all the goodies I find there. I don’t know where I would shop without those stores.
Nature. With all of our travels I have seen some lovely locations this year and I am forever amazed at God’s handiwork.
Outsourcing editing. So this year I made a HUGE change and outsourced my wedding editing. It allowed me two extra days a week to be able to photograph more seniors and keep up with housework. Talk about a big blessing!! Shout-out to my editor, Emily for rocking my editing look like a boss!!
Downtime. This is a big one for me. Part of this years goals was to take more downtime and me time. Time for me as a creative to refresh so I didn’t burn out.
New and crazy ideas!! I keep hinting at something coming soon and yes, I am doing so again. I am taking another leap and doing something crazy in the new year and I’m thankful for the courage to do so!
People to host in my home. I adore each opportunity that I have been blessed with to serve others and make them feel welcome and at home in my little house.
Ice cream. Need I say more?
Last but not least, new days. Though each day might not play out the way I hope, I start each day with the anticipation and joy in each new adventure, so long as its not too early when my day starts. 😉
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and fiends!!
