HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Its been several years since I created a new years resolution and this year the closest thing to a new years resolution I will have is looking at 2016 with a different perspective. I have created work goals each year but I don’t really consider those resolutions. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t, but this year I have chosen a few things that I would like my 2016 to represent.
Let’s start with the yarn. It’s been years since I had a hobby. An “outlet” if you will. A place I can escape and just do mindless work. Cleaning my house just doesn’t cut it and as much as I love photography, I am in need of something non camera related. So for Christmas this year I asked for a hobby and Aaron delivered just that. He bought me what I need to start crocheting and soy candle making. Two things I have been saying I would like to do for a while. So maybe by next year you will all be getting hats and candles for Christmas. Who knows, maybe even some homemade laundry soap if I get really into it.
Less coffee and more tea. I am a coffee… no let me re-phrase that. I am a recovering coffee addict. I drank to much coffee to make up for a lack of sleep, lack of energy and lack of time. It’s no excuse. Rather than fixing the problem, I chose to coffee drug myself. Yes, I do enjoy a yummy latte now and again, but drinking coffee to keep my energy up is no way to live. I need sleep, more exercise and downtime to give my brain a break so when I do work, I am happy and peppy and ready to go.
Ahhh yes, the kitchen. I LOVE to cook!!! I don’t really have time for it. By the time I work from 7AM-7PM the last thing I want to do it stand over the stove and make a meal. Ugh, take-out and WAY to much Chickfila. Goodness my hips don’t lie either… or was that my stomach area. Ether way, my middle says yikes! So this year, this spoon represents more time for meal making.
This iPad represents two things. Stepping out of my office more to work AND my little house. So many times I sit down at the computer and don’t leave the room for hours. I’ll feel so blah from being in the same space for so long but I refuse to move and miss being productive. It’s slowly killing me. So this little iPad and my laptop will be taking trips to a secret little coffee shop I found to blog and edit in a new environment. Don’t worry, I’ll order tea there. 😉
Pintest. Why the Pinterest board? Well, this little house is a work in progress but this year we would like to get more done on the house and I would like to have the time to help do so. We have put a lot of work into the inside now it’s time for the outside. Ooh and there might even be a sunroom soon too. Ooh la la!
All in all, whatever happens on 2016 is all up to God and I’m just along to enjoy and be joyful. So cheers to 2016 and all the wonderful things that will happen and all the challenges I won’t be facing alone.
Happy New Year!!
