The glorious holiday season has come and gone but this year was a special year for Aaron and I. Next Christmas we will be a mom and dad listing to the coos of a nine month old attempting to open gifts on Christmas morning. I’m usually not a fan of transitions or traditions being adjusted, but for the first time in a long time, I am really excited to break out of the normal with this little girl.
Each holiday season I tell myself that I will take the week before Christmas off to do some personal projects and each year I disobey my “rule”. Well this time I told myself I was taking a break starting two weeks before Christmas and guess what? I ended up with the week before Christmas free. I guess my plan kinda worked this time. I am such a workaholic and I LOVE to always be able to serve our Jackson Signature Photography couples and high school seniors but sometimes it’s good to slow down and take some personal time.
This year I did just that. Maybe it’s the excitement of having a baby girl in a few months or maybe it was simply that I took the time to breathe. Either way, this year was magical it it’s own way and I enjoyed it immensely! So today I’m sharing our cottage Christmas with you and my bump since you all keep asking for photos and I hardly post any. Oops!
Yes, I have edited out baby girl’s name on the card she left us on the tree. It’s still a secret. Shhhh Don’t worry though, we will share her name with you all once we meet her. I promise it’s nothing crazy, strange or hard to spell.
Duke sniffed out one of his gifts from Santa right away. This pup LOVES Christmas and all the people that come over around the holidays. You should have seen him at our little Christmas party. He was the star of the show with all the little kiddos running about.
This was his big gift, a new bed. We stopped buying him beds after he destroyed three of them a few years ago and he has been sleeping on our old duvet cover for the last few years. We finally decided it was time to give the guy an upgrade now that he is a gown-up pup. Let’s just say it was a hit! He won’t sleep without it now. Such a diva dog!
Bump-date: Baby girl was 30 weeks on Christmas day!
Aaron knows the way to my heart, cheese. Unlike most women pregnant with girls, I have mostly run away from sugar and have been obsessed with all things salty and anything with cheese.
Hope you have enjoyed a little peak into our little cottage Christmas. Stay tuned to see the full house tour on Joy Filled Occasions blog later in the week incase you want to be nosey.
