The 2015 wedding season’s favorite wedding dress goes to the lovely Mrs. Carla McDowell. Her ceremony was held in a small church in Ligonier with her reception at the Barn at Ligonier. She envisioned a timeless classic wedding with a little small town girl feel, aka a pinch of rustic. You can view their full wedding blog post HERE.
Carla found her dress at Bridal Suites in Johnstown. The Allure Romance dress boasted a sweetheart bodice, extensive lace and delicate flower details for a timeless wedding dress style and look perfect for her and her day.
I’m in love with the simple pearl necklace! It truly added to the look without taking away from her or the dress. Plus pearls are one of my favorite jewelry items. You just can’t go wrong with a simple strand of delicate pearls.
There is so much that goes into choosing a timeless wedding dress but there are a few key things to make note of when dress shopping.
1) Does it flatter your figure?
2) Does your dress style flow with your wedding style? A ballgown for a rustic outdoor or barn wedding might not be the best choice.
3) Is it strapless? Personally, I can’t rock a strapless dress. If you can, that’s wonderful! Most of the dresses at the salons tend to be strapless. However, strapless dresses truly don’t flatter the female figure. The space from above the bodice of the dress, to your neck and out to your shoulders tends to leave you appering broader than you are.
4) Most importantly, do you LOVE it?? Are you comfortable in it? Can you see yourself dancing the night away in this dress? Can you see yourself saying “I do” to the man of your dreams in this dress?
