Why is it that I seam to be writing each blog post lately the day before it goes up. That’s the day before as in a few hours before the day it goes up. Like at 10:00PM not AM. Oops! I guess this years grand adventures have something to do with it. Over the last three months, Aaron and I have been to New Hampshire twice, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, and now California. Goodness! Today’s blog post is all about our last trip. This one took us on a California adventure.
This was our second time there and this time we were heading out to add a new member to our family, Caleb’s lovely wife Bella. We left in the whirlwind of waiting for the election results at 3:00AM and kicked it Jackson Style taking up a whole two rows on one of our flights. We flew South West for the first time and my bag decided to not leave the airport in Pittsburgh with me but to stop on over in Chicago first before heading to meet me in California.
This my fiends is my family. Well, Aaron’s family, now mine. We are just missing Ben’s wife Kandace and Josh here. We took up about a third of the dinning space in In-n-Out.
Pausing for a moment to adore the perfectness of this photo below… I adore the VW bus and this little one was just to perfect. Thoughts like, “does this guy drive around with a coordinating surf board on his roof at all times?” Or “does he only drive it on days when it matches the sky” started to run through my head. But seriously, how perfect is this!?!?! To bad I only had my iPhone on me. 🙁
We hit up the beach shortly after arriving and a second life goal was reached, again without my real camera. Look at this adorable seal! I just want to squeeze it!!
After much preparation and a crazy story for another day and another blog. (What!?!? Don’t you wish you knew. 😉 Caleb and Bella said “I do!” It’s rare I get to sit in a seat for a wedding but this time I did and yes, as always, I cried.
Aaron’s sweet cousin Renee grabbed a few pics of us between the family photos I was taking. Pardon the sunburn on my face!
By Monday the rest of my California dreams came true! Aaron’s awesome cousin Raelene and her hubby Ben join us for some adventures over on Balboa Island. From biking along the ocean for a few miles to eating a Balboa bar and dinning harbor side, the day was perfect!!
So enough of out crazy travels, here are the good pics. I didn’t carry my camera with me for much of the trip BUT I still tried to sneak in a few photos here and there of the lovely landscape. One of my favorites being the cliffs on the coast.
Our last little adventure before we flew out Wednesday took us up into the mountains. The rolling hills that shadow the towns are magnificent and one of Aaron’s favorite things. He and some of the guys in his family had hiked a portion of them the day before and he was thrilled to show me them before we left.
After it rained most of our last trip to California, I was happy yo see the sun and enjoy their so called “dry heat.” While I do enjoy my life in Pennsylvania, I LOVE the cliffs along the coast and all the little coves and passages they make. It’s something that you just can’t see back home.
Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our California adventure! Until our next one friends!
