Aubree and Brandon’s wedding not only holds a special place in my heart because it was the last wedding of the 2015 season, but because Aubree was my first senior to have me photograph her wedding. Over the years I have come to know this wonderful lady and her family quite well and I couldn’t have been happier to see her marry Brandon.
On a chilly winter day in Michigan these two said “I do!” Here is their rustic elegant Michigan wedding day…
Aubree’s mom had created her rustic wedding bouquet, so Aubree seeing it for the first time was quite special.
I just love these girls reactions to seeing her!
When I walked into the room that morning and saw Aubree all dolled up, even before her dress was on, I about burst into happy tears. Aubree you looked so stunning and ever so classy!
My girls! I just love these three!!
Rather than doing the traditional first look where the bride walks to the groom and he turns around to see her, Aubree and Brandon did not see one another until they had finished reading the notes they had written to each other.
Despite the chilly temperatures and the blustery wind, the bridal party braved the Michigan weather for a few photos.
I just love the girls green bridesmaid dresses!
So often the guys stand with the guys and the girl with the girls, but something special Aubree did was have her brother stand with her girls.
Brandon had his cousin Elyse stand with him and his groomsmen as well. Such a wonderful idea!
Their ceremony was held at the Saginaw Valley State University in Founders Hall. Talk about a fabulous venue!! The windows are spectacular!!
Someone was done with her role as flower girl.
Beautiful! Just beautiful! Yes, I would love to photograph another wedding here at Founders Hall!
The grin on Brandon’s face…. I love it so much!! It’s moments like these that are so irreplaceable.
We snuck outside for the last of the sunlight before heading to the reception to dance the night away.
There is something so wonderful and charming about the bride and groom’s family and friends coming together to make a wedding day happen. Saturday evening after the rehearsal, we all pulled together to create the perfect reception. Aubree and Bradon along with family and friends had spent countless hours over the months leading up to the wedding to create the perfect décor pieces. From the long birch wood candleholders that ran down the center of the table, to the darling little coasters with their logo, every little detail was perfectly crafted for them.
Aubree even created a special table for the little ones that were in attendance so they too could enjoy the reception.
Brandon’s mom created this lovely wedding cake for them. Her attention to detail in the holly leaf design is lovely and let’s not forget the adorable cake toppers!
In all my years as a wedding photographer, I have heard many maid of honor speeches but Tarah, yours takes the cake! Tarah re-created a Taylor Swift song to perfectly tell her and Aubree’s story from childhood siblings to Aubree’s new life in Michigan. It was laughter and tears all rolled into one perfect speech.
Aubree and Brandon, Aaron and I were so honored to be a part of your wedding! Aubree, I am so very proud of you!! Cheers to many many years!!
