When you start a business, they tell you to create your ten year plan. Launching full time in 2010, a PLAN, a DREAM and a WHY all came together to make up my ten year plan. I knew I wanted to capture moments and memories. Why? Because I wanted to create lasting relationships and timelines images. At first I was photographing every thing that came my way, but like all plans, they change and are refined. So in 2012, after my own wedding, I refined my vision. I found my true passions and continued on my journey. I went from being a Commercial, Senior, Portrait, Newborn, Wedding, Vehicle and Sport photographer to only being a wedding and senior portrait photographer. A lot of photographers said I needed to just pick one specialty, however, my ten year plan was in the back of my mind. Sticking to what I felt I was to do, I became a wedding and senior portrait photographer both in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and as a destination photographer.
Now 5 years later, my ten your plan is working!!! This weekend I will be photographing one of my Class of 2011 Seniors, Aubree, and this time she will be a bride. I can not tell you how thrilled I am!! The wonderful relationship I have created with her and her family over the years makes the day even more special to me.
As you launch your own business or even if you already have a business started, take a moment to remember why you started, what you really truly want to do and continue to refine your vision as the months and years pass. Don’t let others define who you are! Continually pursue your dreams! Be who you were created to be! Do what you love to do! Keep your chin up! You got this!
