Character flaws & how they shaped me as a photographer

Your “Character Flaws” can shape you as a person.

I’m an over achiever:  I always give 110%. I’m a pour it all out kind of person. It’s either all or nothing. I’m either passionate about something, and doing it or semi passionate, and not doing anything with it. At the end of a wedding day or a high school senior session, I’m not only physically but mentally exhausted. I pour all of myself into creating and crafting. Because of this, my couples and seniors know that I have put everything out there and given them my very best.

Your " Character Flaws " can shape you as a person, greensburg wedding photographer, latrobe wedding photographer, ligonier wedding photographer, pittsburgh wedding photographer, Pennsylvania wedding photographer, wedding photography, destination wedding photographer, Maryland wedding photographer, Michigan wedding photographer, destination wedding photographer, classic wedding details,

I’m shy:  I’m in a field where being shy just doesn’t cut it. I have to put myself out there, no matter what. It’s a mind over matter kinda thing. On the inside, I would love to hide and not say a thing in large crowds but I wouldn’t get much accomplished. Instead, I choose to walk into a room, introduce myself and make new friends. Stepping out of my comfort zone causes me to be the truest most genuine version of myself. In return, I get to know others and feel it makes me more comfortable to be around.

I tend to be a perfectionist: I’m pretty sure this one drives friends and family CRAZY!!! This one is perfect on a wedding day. I make sure the wedding stationery is perfectly straight for a detail photo, check every background to make sure it is clean and tells the wedding day story, make sure the bride’s hair is in place… you get the point. However, in my every day life, all the dining room chairs have to be perfectly set around the table, there needs to not be a single water spot on the bathroom faucet, every throw pillow has to be perfectly aligned and fluffed… I obviously have a few things that I truly prefer to be perfect or just set in a certain way. Oops! With this being said though, I am trying to limit my perfectionistic moments to wedding days and let more water spots on the faucet.

All of these things can be filed under the “Character Flaws” category but rather than allowing them to shut me up and weigh me down, I have chosen to make them useful. Each one of us is given the choice as well. Turn your “so called” character flaws into awesome qualities and be the truest most genuine version of you!
