2020 wasn’t the most ideal year to get married, but when you have been planning your dream day for quite a while and suddenly it doesn’t look like it will happen, it makes what does happen all the more sweet. In July of 2020 things in Pittsburgh weren’t fully open but they weren’t closed either. Courtney and Rob snagged an adjusted date at Heinz Chapel in Oakland and moved things around with their reception venue, Antonelli’s in Irwin to make their wedding dreams a reality.
Courtney got ready with the most joy filled bridesmaids. They were all so excited for her and Rob and what the day was to bring.
A first look under the shadow of the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland was the perfect backdrop for the Heinz Chapel Ceremony.
We were one of the first weddings at Heinz Chapel after being closed for a few months so things got a little rocky the night before their big day. Their close knit 40 person guest list for the chapel suddenly turned into 25 people MAX and that included the bridal party, which was quite large. Unfortunately Aaron didn’t make it on the 25 person list but the videographer did and the quick ceremony was just a darling as a big one.
After the ceremony portraits resumed in the sunshine that followed between Heinz Chapel and the Cathedral of learning.
You can’t be in downtown Pittsburgh and have your ceremony at Heinz Chapel without a stop at the Mellon Institute Pillars, am I right?
Lastly, their night came to a close, or should I say heated up, at Antonelli’s in Irwin for a grand event with family and friends ready to cheer them on.
You can’t have a Pittsburgh wedding without the official Pittsburgh wedding cookie table. This one spanned 4 8ft tables. I don’t think there are official rules on the number of tables a Pittsburgh bride must have but I feel as though 4 tables should qualify. 😉
Looking back on their day, the fun everyone had and the joy that was present; I can’t help but smile. It’s true when they say that tough times makes us stronger and help us cherish life. Courtney and Rob’s reception was so full of excitement and joy. Everyone was just grateful to be present and celebrating.
All of the AMAZING wedding vendors that brought Courtney & Rob’s wedding day to life thought the 2020 wedding season.
